Historique :	Vers 1735. Oeuvre du peintre Jacques Aved (1702-1766). Il s'agit du portrait de son troisième fils Jean Simon né en 1732. Il fera une brillante carrière (avocat à Paris à 22 ans et lieutenant d'artillerie à 42 ans) mais il sera guillotiné en 1794. Même si l'influence hollandaise est présente, le cadrage de ce tableau évoque un autre peintre de l'enfance au 18e siècle : Chardin. Les deux peintres se fréquenteront pendant 40 ans et c'est Aved qui incite Chardin à faire des portraits d'enfants. Aved possédait 9 peintures de Chardin (natures mortes) (cf PV de la CNMH du 27 novembre 2007).
