Précision sur l'inscription :	Inscription : A Benigne Petit sa très chère épouse qui trepassa le 23 nov. 1621, Blaise Briffaut a dédié ce monument d'amour et de piété... Cette épouse m'a laissé des regrets éternels, elle a vécu avec nous 33 ans. Elle m'a donné 7 enfants dont l'ainé fut illustre abbé de Morimont. La même terrre nous a posé le même monument funèbre nous réunira. Nous prions nos chers enfants et nos proches lorsque la même urne aura réuni nos cendres de faire célébrer solennellement annuellement à perpétuité p. le repos de notre âme de St Sacrifice de la messe le 3 nov. Cette messe a été fondée par nos testament qui assume selon mes ressources un honoraire convenable aux prêtres et une aumône aux veuves et aux pauvres. A chacun des enfants et à leurs parents qui assisteront à cette messe, il sera donné un sol. Adieu lecteur et bonne santé. Date : 1621.
